Rani Agrawal is an Indian film actress. She started off her career as a child actor in the serial Hasratein. She went on to make her Bollywood debut as the lead actress in the film Love Recipe in 2012.

Early life[edit]

Agrawal was born in Mumbai, India. She became a Chartered Accountant at the age of 21. She did her schooling from Chatrabhuj Narsee Monjee School and graduated from N.M. College of Commerce and Economics with a degree in Economics and Commerce.

Born into a family where her parents, Pradeep Agrawal and Kalpana. She made her debut in the 2012 film Love Recipe, where she essayed the role of Tia Singh, the female lead in the movie.[1]

Career[edit]

Her entry into the world of cinema and television was a dream that she nurtured since her childhood. She worked on her first television serial Hasratein (aired on Zee TV), when she was just a toddler. She was a key part of the 1996 critically acclaimed Marathi movie Suna Yeti Ghara. She has worked with the legendary Asha Parekh in the hit TV show Rishtey (TV series). She is also known for her role in Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann, a television soap on Indian television. She then went on to do various print and TV commercials - most famous being the Brooke Bond advertisement with Shoojit Sircar.

Eventually, she moved to film industry. At the start of her career in film industry, Agrawal said that "Acting and the entire process of film-making is something that comes naturally to me and I will toil hard to make this place my own." Thus began Agrawal's journey at the box office, with her first movie Love Recipe paired alongside Suhail Karim and directed by Amol Shetge opening to mixed reviews.

In 2015, she appeared in "Chhu ke dil", a music video of Padma Shri Soma Ghosh, who is a well-known vocalist.[2]

Recently, she played the co-lead in a Marathi film opposite superstar Siddhartha Jadhav titled as "Sarva Line Vyasta Aahet" and along with veteran filmmaker and actor Mahesh Manjrekar.[3] She says that she took the plunge to be a part of the booming Marathi Film Industry. Besides, the role offered to her was very challenging, requiring her to speak in as many as four different languages.

In 2019, Agrawal was awarded as the “Rising Star” by the Times of India group.

Philanthropy[edit]

Agrawal has been actively involved with multi-national charitable institutions like Leonard Cheshire Disability and Rotaract since her primitive years. At an educational fair, Agrawal emphasized on the need for an adequate infrastructure and dissemination of quality education for everyone.
