Johny Joseph with the stage name Kundara Johny is an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema. He has acted in more than 100 films. He has also done Tamil films like Vaazhkai Chakram and Nadigan. He surprised everyone with the wide range of performance as a Rowdy in Kireedam and then as a reformed person in its sequel Chenkol. He mainly acts in villain roles in Malayalam movies.

Early life[edit]

Johny hails from Kundara, Kollam. He was born as the youngest son of Joseph Kuttipuram and Catherine. He has 5 sisters and 5 brothers. He studied at Fatima Mata National College and Sree Narayana College, Kollam.[1] He was a football player at college. He worked as a sales executive for Pondicherry Papers Ltd, before entering the movie industry. He made his debut, at the age of 23, through the 1979 Malayalam movie, Nithya Vasantham, playing a 55-year-old character.[2]

Personal life[edit]

He is married to Dr. Stella, a Hindi professor at Fatima Mata National College, Kollam. They have a daughter, Ashima and a son, Astej. Currently he resides at Kollam with family. He holds prominent positions in different clubs in Kollam. He is the past president of Lions Club, a founder of the I.C.C, member of Boat Club, ex vice-chairman of C.S.S, Kollam, President of Fine Arts Society (F.A.S) and a lifetime member of Red Cross.[3]
