Akkineni Nageswara Rao (20 September 1923 – 22 January 2014)[1] was an Indian movie actor and producer. He worked in the Telugu cinema. He became a famous stage artiste. He was known for playing female characters[2] because women at that time were prohibited from acting.

Rao died on 22 January 2014 in Hyderabad from cancer aged 90.[1][3]
